We Choose Virtues (a TOS review)

**warning** The following video depicts events which may take place in a homeschool family’s home near you.  Heck, who am I kidding?  This isn’t a depiction – this is the real deal!  Because God forbid mommy needs to go potty every now and then.  If screaming preschoolers and their teasing siblings ruffle your feathers, I’d advise against watching.  But if you happen to have kids like mine (who could use a good does of Character Training) you may find yourself heart-connecting with another real homeschool mommy (who could benefit from some Virtue building too). Smile

That video, my friends, is why I jumped right on the chance to review

And from day one, I have loooooved everything about this program!

We got a package with the cute little Virtue Clue Cards which look SO cute in our pocket charts.  I love how colorful the cards are.  We switch sides after we study a trait.  I’ve been focusing on one Virtue a week during our morning “together time”.

Before choosing a Virtue to study, I gathered the kiddos so we could complete the Family Assessment together.

My kids are too funny.  They’re much harder on themselves then they really should be!  But I’m keeping that video clip around in case I need evidence someday.  In love

They especially liked that I let them grade my character too.

The results?

We all need some Virtue choosing going on!

I loved that this program works for all three of my kids!  I thought the graphics might be a little too cutsie for my almost-eleven-year-old…but he didn’t bat an eye.  In fact, he even asked me to print cartoon pages for him too!  Hahaha!  They do offer a more youth-friendly system too.  The graphics are much cooler – and the journal looks GREAT!

You can purchase the homeschool kit for $99.99.  In the kit you’ll find:

  • The Kids Virtue Poster
  • 13 Parenting Cards
  • 3 mini-posters
  • 12 Flash Cards
  • 1 pad (25) Virtue User Review
  • 1 pack Personal Virtue Cards
  • Three Rules Poster

Plus, there are additional goodies, like, coordinating coloring pages and downloadable Scriptures too!  Because I’m an iPad junkie, I love that the manuals are downloadable.  I was able to download and dropbox the teacher’s handbook, which makes it SO easy to use in our school room.  I can totally see this program working for Sunday School or other classes too.  The prices vary based on what you’re looking for.

I do think the price is a twitch steep.  But then, can you really put a price tag on more Virtue Choosing and less of the video antics above?

If you’re looking for a good character training curriculum for your kiddos this year, I would recommend We Choose Virtues for sure!

This is where I disclaim, as part of the TOS Crew, I was given a sample of We Choose Virtues in exchange for my honest and timely review.  All thoughts expressed are my own.  I received no other compensation.

  1. Great review! Thanks for "keeping it real"!:) Thank you for your sweet comments on my blog, too. You made me smile! SO true! If we teach other children it's a noble cause, but if we teach our own it's weird?? Something is wrong there. Hope you have a great day! Lori
