Each station has 15 minutes of activities around a specific sport offered by the Special Olympics of RI.  For this season we’re exploring Tennis, Track & Field and Soccer.

  2. Is Toby Trevy's brother? It's so cool that he had a big kid help him out! My Sam loves when he has a big kid to spend time with him! And he LOOOOVES Track and Field too! I'm signing him up for it next spring! Should be a blast! Love Trevy's smiles! He had a wonderful day, huh?

  4. OY...this is our first season ever. A few months ago the closest "adaptive" sports for kids like Trevy was 30 mins away at the Y. Great programs...but TOO far...and pricey. Soooo...myself and another mom contacted Special Olympics. We were pretty easy to talk into launching this on our own because we both have kiddos who will love it. We've been SO blessed by the number of volunteers who were just waiting for something like this to come along! Of course...we're still in the new beginning phase...but it's already been SO fun and wonderful! All that to say...if you decide to investigate launching a Young Athletes program in your area...I'm here to bounce ideas off of and help. :)

Our Side...Tobes is Trevy's big brother. And he was really REALLY great as his Field Buddy. I wasn't so sure. But enough "Mooooom...I've got this under control"s...and I started to land the helicopter mommy side of me. :) Trevy did have a GREAT day!

    Susie...thanks!
