Friday, July 19, 2013 (a review & giveaway!)

Not so long ago, we somehow stumbled on this wonderful piano resource called FreePianoLessons4Kids.  The kids are always finding interesting things online.  But this was the perfect find at the perfect time!

I have a deep desire for my children to have music included in their education.  Which is why I had been wrangling my mom into giving the kids piano lessons.  We’re a one income family.  She had 10+ years of experience and could get them further down the road than I could with a copy of the library’s piano for beginners material.  It was a win-win!  Until my mom developed an auto-immune condition that left her VERY sick and often exhausted.  Couple that with my life as a Special Needs Mommy who is also, exhausted.

It doesn’t take much imagination to guess what happened to the kids and their piano lessons.

Enter Mr. Hoffman to save the piano day!

Read his full bio here.

Because that perfect stumble led my kids to Mr. Hoffman’s 56 FREE piano lessons!

I quickly learned that video tutorials are available via YouTube for FREE or can be purchased as a DVD set for just $29.95 plus S&H.  If you’ve ever priced piano lessons for your children, you’ll know what a great deal that is!

As you can see above, I have my kids watch the video on the iPad while at the piano.

Mr. Hoffman also wrote and offers a supplemental E-Book ($23.95 instant download) filled with lesson plans and games to enrich the FREE lessons.

I was given a copy of the E-book for review purposes but would highly recommend purchasing it!

A lot of work was put into the materials.  Mr. Hoffman offers wonderful insight and lots of ideas for activities.  Plus, the lesson plans are invaluable to keeping us on track!

One of my biggest take homes was learning the importance of doing piano TOGETHER.  Somehow, I thought because I can’t play the piano…it was something they should/could do alone.  Sure, I would listen to their scales from another room.  But they need more from me than just an ear.  Mr. Hoffman taught me that!

We just don’t have the extra padding in the budget to provide the kids with private lessons.  Nor do we have the time or energy to schlep back and forth.  FreePianoLessons4Kids is meeting our family’s musical needs right now!

FreePianoLessons4Kids have been such wonderful gift for our family!

And guess what?

One of my readers gets a chance to win a FREE download of the supplemental materials too!  That’s a gift worth $23.95!  Have fun…and good luck!

***This is my little space to disclaim that I was given a free digital copy of FreePianoLessons4Kids’ complete materials for lessons 1-41 in exchange for my honest review shared on my blog.  All opinions expressed are my honest own.  I hope that you enjoyed and found my review at least a smidge helpful.***
